Biochemistry, Nutrition and Dietics

INTRODUCTION

Biochemistry is the branch of biology that describes the structure, organization and functions of living matter in molecular terms

It is one of the basic preclinical subject for the first professional BDS students as it is important, that a dentist should be able to understand and appraise findings critically

The subject mainly focuses on chemistry and metabolism of various biomolecules (carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, nucleic acids, vitamins, minerals etc) 

We also have a well equipped biochemistry laboratory to guide both BDS and MDS students for their research work

We also emphasize on the basic biochemical investigations (both qualitative and quantitative experiments) which will make a breakthrough in the diagnosis of various diseases as well as for research purpose
